what scares me the most as a writer has to be this:
Making a story up on the fly and updating it for people to see
But as of today, I decided I'm going to try conquering this fear... and you can help!!!
Before I tell you that, though, let me tell you a little more about my fear:
Writing in private is one thing... I can say all sorts of stupid lame things and then change them before publishing. That's how I was able to publish one novel.
But the writers I envy the most are the ones who can publish chapter after chapter with only a vague idea of where the story is going.
Writers such as:
Manga authors, whose livelihoods depend upon publishing regularly
Hundreds of thousands of amateur authors slaving away on their passion projects via sites like wattpad
Web comic artists who are always drawing and writing to self-imposed weekly deadlines
Not only are they holding themselves to a deadline, but they're investing time and effort into a story that might not go anywhere. There's also a chance it might totally suck, and that people will tell them that!!!
Ever since my cringey beginnings as an aspiring sprite comic author back in 2000's, I've been exposed to these kinds of authors, but have never had the real courage to write the way they do.
And that's a problem.
I have to become more powerful, and I can't do it with this fear in my way!!! <goku_poweringup.gif>
But I want to do it in my own way...
So here are my baby steps toward conquering this fear and how you can help:
I'm going to write a little bit every day and put it in a Google Doc
I will maintain this doc just as I would for my own personal project, complete with notes to self
You can get access to the doc by signing up for it as a gumroad product via clicking the button below
You also get access to commenting permissions on the document so you can praise me or shit on me in real time
So yeah, click the button below if you're with me!!I'll follow you on your journey--sign me up
